Hello, everybody.
My name is Yu Jinze. I am Chinese. I used to study in Beijing, the capital and centre of culture of China. Last year, I pasted one month in Beijing during the Olympic Games and four days working as a volunteer and then came to France. From then on I am student of Ecole Polytechnique, a famous engineering school in France. Now, I follow the language course of Japanese provided by school and start to learn Japanese as a beginner.
I chose to learn Japanese because I really love the language (well I am thirty to learn it exactly). As I was born in GuangDong, a city surrounding Hongkong, we share the same culture environment and we speak the same language Cantonese (that’s why we are called Cantonese). As we know, Hongkong was a semicolon of England. From then on, Hongkong server as an international port of the world and open its door to all of the country. Because of the geographical raison or because of the development of Japan, Cantonese like to cooperate with the Japanese, in term of economy (Goldman Sachs, Sony, etc…) and recreation (television, manga, music, video games, etc…). The children in the 80s (my generation!!!) knew pretty much Japan. We like reading mangas such as ドラエもん, えどがわこなん, Mashin Eiyuuden Wataru, Gundam. We like the video games company like sony-square enix(founder of Final Fantesy, oh, I forgot that, the main song of FF8 was sang by a Cantonese whose name is “WangFei”), Nintendo(producer of many famous games such as Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Pokémon). The girls like to watch the episodes such as 东京ラブストーリー, Summer Snow OST(どうもと つよし and 広末 凉子). Considering the boys, we can also find out innumerable series like GTO, イニシャル ディー . There are many Japanese actors greeted. Among them, 木村拓哉, 浜崎 あゆみ, 金城武, くらき まい. Today, we can still see their CD album or movie’s DVD on market. Finally but not less important, we cannot miss the Japanese films. Love Letter (of なかやまみほ). ただ、君を爱してる impressed my generation deeply. (I recommend you to watch Love Letter if you want to enter a world of pure love during 2 hours, you will have a view of Asian people’s attitude about love.).
I think everyone has a landscape of love in its heart. For me, the Japanese culture is one part of my best memory of my childhood and accompanied me every days when I could just sit in front of the screen and enjoyed the romantic history of Legend of Heroes (another famous Japanese video game). I really want to make friends with the Japanese students or the students who is interested in Japanese culture (it’s ok if you are also interested in Canton, especially le riz cantonnais) and I am sure we can find out many interests to share. I have many Japanese games in my PC and I have a PSP in my room. And I am professional in playing games. You can call me to join you team any time you want.
I hope I can one day go to Japan to seek the source of the landscape in my heart… also, sorry for not writing in Japanese, but I will make progress.
